a little glimpse into our time together.

What do we do with our hands?

  • A

Hold hands, squish those cheeks, kiss those toes. Just a few ideas.

Use this time to pause and focus on one another in a way you might not usually have time for: your partners smile, your kids dimples, or the wild outfit your kid just HAD to wear.

Or maybe this looks like being your kids own personal jungle gym for a minute. (just make sure they don’t grab your glasses or use your hair as a rope!).

  • B

Look at that leaf, pick up the twig, hold your running toddler upside down for a second. Have a quick sink soak, stuff a strawberry in, or build a quick tower together. So often we are consumed with to do lists. Use this time to ignore it all and be the fun mom/dad you wish you could be more often.

  • C

Play the piano, make some bread, read a favorite book, garden, pick flowers, blow bubbles, dance.

Moments that happen every day, but will be core memories to your kids one day. And hopefully they will use these memories to create more of their own with their kids.

I sent/have inspiration photos, will you duplicate those?

Going to say every kids least favorite word here - no. Or mostly likely not.

  1. Some inspiration that is sent is of kids in very different stages and ages of life.

  2. That family may behave very different than your actual family. I know, seems obvious, but each family is truly SO unique, there is no real “one photo fits all” out there.

I suggest, you look at your inspiration photos and actually consider WHY you like them. The outfits? Then grab some similar ones! The colors? Let’s pay attention to outfit choices and location. The closeness the family seems to have? Then repeat steps A, B, C and really notice every wonderful person before you and let those feelings lead you to smile at your partner, chase your littles for a hug, or pick a flower for your shyest kid.

Will I look as awkward as I feel?

Unless you have a habit of making weird smiles (think Chandler on F.r.i.e.n.d.s.) you will be just fine. 95% of the families on my website and social media have told me prior to their session how awkward they are in front of the camera. Photos with kids usually help take your mind off yourself, and onto them. It’s magical.

I will make suggestions when needed, which might not be very often at all. My best advice, smile and take deep breaths. Focus on your family, tell me about the wild sleepiness nights you had, or how your third kid is drastically different than the other two (so crazy, right!?). The more you relax, the better you will feel AND look.

Can you direct me every moment, second, you are with me? Please.

I heard from tik-tok or instagram that I should have what the newest trend is. Will you do that for me?

I stay true to my own style and vision. When I try to be someone else or replicate what does not feel true for me, then the images usually are not as strong as they could be. When a client fully trusts me to create from my own heart and vision, that’s when we have fun, connect the most, and usually create a much stronger gallery together.

The reality is, if you want editorial vibes your session cost will be several hundred dollars more. It requires much more time, energy, planning, and extra hands than you would think. I am open though - you just have to also put in the work to bring this to life!

Make it stand out.
